Memorial University in St. John's, Newfoundland has put a wonderful collection online. Anyone with interest in history, especially of the local variety, will find this site endlessly entertaining and enlightening. Wonderful pictures from days long gone but not yet forgotten.

Click "browse" and use drop down arrow to find interesting sections to explore. In the digitized books section you may be able to download the books as a pdf file. When you click a book and it loads, look for the "PDF" in the tool-bar for the viewer and you can easily save the document to your computer for viewing later.
